117 W Main Street, Durham -- every Saturday, a small line can be found forming outside the Pinhook Bar. Outside, cars pass by and faint music can be heard. Inside however is a celebration -- it is a celebration for and by the LGBTQ community of Durham. Art and Activism lie at the heart of this community -- and nobody reflects it better than J. Clapp (she/they) or Vivica C. Coxx -- Durham's Drag Diva.

Working on this project gave me the opportunity to engage with Durham's queer nightlife, gain an understanding of the intersectional issues facing the LGBTQ+ community and hear countless empowering stories from LGBTQ activists, families, couples and individuals. Thank you J for allowing me to capture your story -- it is one of resilience, grace and pride, and one that I will never forget!
